REACHING QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH EFFECTIVE BEHAVIOR ANALYTIC PRACTICE

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF EFL INFORMED TREATMENT

On the tenth anniversary of the publication of EFL, this event aims to be an opportunity to reflect and share how much Essential For Living has been the engine of a great change in the clinical practice of those who have learned to use it and make it come to life in services for people with disabilities and autism with limited skill repertoires. An important change that has improved the quality of life of both the people who are served and assisted and the staff who have implemented EFL. In fact, Essential for living has turned out to be much more than a simple curriculum and assessment, configuring itself within the services as a real treatment model.

In a context of reflection on the values that are at the basis of Essential for Living and which constitute its heart, the latest news from EFL will be illustrated by the authors and their ambassadors and in particular the EFL Program Analysis Tool (PAT) will be presented: an EFL-based outcome tracking tool. A specific focus will be proposed on EFL-based clinical practice in other European countries with the presence of EFL ambassadors from France and England. Further focus will be offered by the presence of important Italian professionals and practitioners who will present their clinical experience with EFL.

The presence of eminent exponents of the world of American behavior analysis (Dr. Carbone and Dr. Camilleri) will make this event even more valuable and will allow clinical practice with EFL to be placed in a wider framework of good practices. It will be about living and experiencing in real life, especially for those who will be able to attend the event in person, at least part of the change in the quality of life that our users and our staff have experienced in recent years, learning and teaching with joy.

IL TRAGUARDO DI 10 ANNI DI TRATTAMENTO BASATO SU ESSENTIAL FOR LIVING.

Nella ricorrenza del decimo anno dalla pubblicazione di EFL questo evento vuole essere l’occasione per riflettere e condividere quanto Essential For Living sia stato il motore di un grande cambiamento nella pratica clinica di chi ha imparato ad utilizzarlo e a fargli “prendere vita” nei servizi per le persone disabili e autistiche con repertori di abilità limitati. Un cambiamento importante che ha migliorato la qualità di vita sia delle persone che vengono servite ed assistite che dello staff che ha implementato EFL. Essential for living è infatti è risultato essere molto più di un semplice curriculum e assessment configurandosi all’interno dei servizi come un vero e proprio modello di trattamento.

In un contesto di riflessione sui valori che sono alla base di Essential for Living e che ne costituiscono il cuore, verranno illustrati dagli autori e dai loro ambasciatori le ultime novità in casa EFL ed in particolare verrà presentato l’EFL Program Analysis Tool (PAT): uno strumento per il tracciamento degli esiti basato su EFL. Un focus specifico verrà proposto sulla pratica clinica basata su EFL in altri paesi Europei con la presenza di ambasciatori EFL dalla Francia e dall’Inghilterra. Un ulteriore approfondimento sarà offerto dalla presenza di importanti professionisti Italiani che porteranno la loro esperienza clinica con EFL.

La presenza di eminenti esponenti del mondo dell’analisi del comportamento americano (il dr. Carbone ed il Dr. Camilleri) renderà ancora più prezioso questo evento e permetterà di collocare la pratica clinica con EFL in una più ampia cornice di buone pratiche. Si tratterà di vivere e sperimentare dal vero, in particolare per chi potrà assistere all’evento in presenza, almeno una parte del cambiamento nella qualità della vita che i nostri utenti ed il nostro staff ha sperimentato in questi ultimi anni imparando ed insegnando con gioia.
